:GaT ('''Guards and Thieves''') is the first gamemode made for OGAT. Born during the Ludum Dare 26 (a game-making competition), GaT mode is the core foundation of this game in terms of game mechanics and graphic appearance.
  +
The guards must defend a number of objects (6 in the original GaT version) present on the game map, while the thieves will steal one of the objects and escape with it without dying, through one of the exits.

  +
In this mode, the guards must defend '''SIX objects''' present on the game map. Each objects will be spread differently throughout the different maps however the location of the objects will '''NEVER''' change on the same map. The guards have to strategize and hold key locations of the map to prevent thieves reaching any objects. Use common sense to try to think about the thieves' target object however be wary of ruses from the thieves' team.
The object to be stolen, will be randomly selected by the system and will be communicated to the Thieves Team at the beginning of the game.

  +
So, the guards will not know which of the objects is the real goal for the Thieves Team.

  +
In contrast, while the guards are defending the six objects on the map, thieves have the objective of stealing '''ONE''' precise object that will be pointed out by the yellow objective arrow. Thieves have to steal the target object and escape with it safely through one of the exits.
The match lasts 5 minutes in which the two teams will face each other to win the game.

The target object will be randomly selected by the system and will be announced to the thieves team at the beginning of the game. (The object's name will be written at the top left corner).
  +
The guards do not know which of the objects is the real goal of the thieves. Strategize with your teammate for an all-in attack or confuse the guards by stealing other objects to distract them.

In this mode, the counter-terrorists must prevent the terrorists to place the bomb in one of two designated ares on the map and last for the whole round of five minutes. In contrast, terrorists have to detonate the bomb and secure that area to prevent the counter-terrorists from reaching the bomb and deactivating it. The bomb can be activated on either locations (A or B) for terrorists to win. The bomb will be randomly assigned to a terrorist by the system. In this mode, the guards have to defend the ''Big Brain'' located in '''ONE of the six''' positions on the map for the entire duration of the round (5 minutes). The location of the brain will be communicated to the guards at the beginning of the round. As a guard, you usually have the advantage since you can attack the zombies at long range with your guns. However, to balance the game, guards have a longer respawn time (15 seconds) which can make you vulnerable if the brain is being eaten. The guards have to strategize and hold key locations of the map to prevent zombies from reaching the ''Big Brain''.
  +
  +
In contrast, zombies have to find the ''Big Brain'' first as they do not know its location; reach the brain, break its protection and then eat it. Zombies have a fast respawn time (5 seconds) and are only proficient in short range attacks. Zombies do not have guns and they do not have any medium/long ranged attack available. Strategize with your teammate for an all-in attack or attack in groups to distract the guards.

<br />
  +
In this mode, there are two teams (Guards and Killers). A VIP will spawn on the guards' side (assigned randomly). The objective of this game for guards is to help the VIP reach the escape point if you are a guard. However, if you are a killer, your objective is to kill the VIP and prevent him from reaching the escape point. There is a time limit of '''5 minutes''' which means that if the VIP did not die and did not reach the escape point within that time, killers win. As soon as the VIP dies or reaches the escape point, the game is automatically over.
  +
As a guard, you have the task to clear the way so that the VIP can safely reach the escape point. Make use of all your weapons such as grenades and flares and make sure to reload often.
  +
As a killer, you do not need to kill all the guards. Your task is to kill the VIP. Only kill guards if necessary. It is a good idea to hide around the escape point however it is also predictable. Be smart.

  +
Instagib is one unique mode because of its one shot one kill feature. You are equipped with a railgun that has infinite range. Stay hidden behind solid objects and time your attacks well. Remember, every time you get killed, you are giving one point away to the opposite team!

In this mode, there are two teams (Blue and Red). At the start of this game, there will be 4 special "bases" that will be spawned onto the map. Your home flag location, your capture point, the enemy's flag location and finally the enemy's capture point. The objective in this mode is to bring the enemy's flag to your capture point while being able to defend your own flag from getting into the enemy's capture point. Learn the four "bases" locations for every map before playing!
  +
In this mode, knowledge of the map is essential. Knowing where the enemy is located and being able to quickly move past him via shortcuts can be the difference between winning and losing. It is a good idea to organize your teams into groups such as an attacking group and a defending group.

In this mode, there are two teams (Humans and Faceless). Humans are only equipped with a torch. Their objective is to find at least 4 notes individually (one person of the team has to find 4/4 notes) to win the game. They also have to avoid getting killed by The Faceless Ones. Humans only have one life per game meaning that if you die, you can only spectate until the end of the round. If the Humans cannot collect 4/4 notes during the 5 minutes given, it is considered a Faceless win.
  +
The Faceless Ones have to kill all the Humans to win OR prevent the Humans from getting 4/4 notes for 5 minutes. They can move extremely fast and become invisible (right mouse click). They are equipped with a melee attack (Scream) and with an indirect visual short range attack. The visual attack only works when a Human player is looking directly at a Faceless player. The Human player will then gradually lose health.
  +
  +
As a Human, it is important to coordinate your movements and strategize so that one player picks up all the notes. This will ensure a faster victory rather than individually trying to find 4 notes. Notice that 4 people in the Humans' team getting one note each will not let you win, however ONE person getting four notes will end the game.
  +
As a Faceless One, use your speed wisely. Make sure to position yourself properly in front of a Human to scream at him and also use your visual attack at the same time to maximize your damage.

Competitive Gamemode Overview

GaT (Guards and Thieves)

Main Article: GaT

GaT (Guards and Thieves) is the first gamemode made for OGAT. Born during the Ludum Dare 26 (a game-making competition), GaT mode is the core foundation of this game in terms of game mechanics and graphic appearance.

In this mode, the guards must defend SIX objects present on the game map. Each objects will be spread differently throughout the different maps however the location of the objects will NEVER change on the same map. The guards have to strategize and hold key locations of the map to prevent thieves reaching any objects. Use common sense to try to think about the thieves' target object however be wary of ruses from the thieves' team.

In contrast, while the guards are defending the six objects on the map, thieves have the objective of stealing ONE precise object that will be pointed out by the yellow objective arrow. Thieves have to steal the target object and escape with it safely through one of the exits. The target object will be randomly selected by the system and will be announced to the thieves team at the beginning of the game. (The object's name will be written at the top left corner). The guards do not know which of the objects is the real goal of the thieves. Strategize with your teammate for an all-in attack or confuse the guards by stealing other objects to distract them.

The match lasts five minutes in which the two teams will face each other to win the game.

Blue Team's Objective Prevent the thieves from stealing the target item and escaping through the exits for the duration of the match. (5 minutes)
Red Team's Objective Steal the target object and escape with it alive to one of the exits before the time runs out!

In this mode, the counter-terrorists must prevent the terrorists to place the bomb in one of two designated ares on the map and last for the whole round of five minutes. However if terrorists have detonated a bomb, counter-terrorists can win the game by deactivating it successfully. The guards have to strategize and hold key locations of the map to prevent terrorists reaching any designated areas to detonate the bomb.

In contrast, terrorists have to detonate the bomb and secure that area to prevent the counter-terrorists from reaching the bomb and deactivating it. The bomb can be activated on either locations (A or B) for terrorists to win. The bomb will be randomly assigned to a terrorist by the system. If the terrorist with the bomb dies during the game, the bomb will be dropped at that location. Terrorists now have to first get to that location to take the bomb again and then try to activate it in one of the designated areas.

The match lasts five minutes in which the two teams will face each other to win the game.

Blue Team's Objective Prevent the placement of the bomb at the designated areas for the duration of the match (5 min); or defuse the bomb before it explodes.
Red Team's Objective Activate the bomb in one of the designated areas and secure the area until the explosion.

Preserve your health and your ammo to be able to maximize your kill count while minimizing the kill count of the opposite team. Remember, every time you get killed, you are giving one point away to the opposite team and vice-versa!

The match lasts five minutes in which the two teams will face each other to win the game.

ZR (Zombie Rush)

Main Article: ZR
In this mode, the guards have to defend the Big Brain located in ONE of the six positions on the map for the entire duration of the round (5 minutes). The location of the brain will be communicated to the guards at the beginning of the round. As a guard, you usually have the advantage since you can attack the zombies at long range with your guns. However, to balance the game, guards have a longer respawn time (15 seconds) which can make you vulnerable if the brain is being eaten. The guards have to strategize and hold key locations of the map to prevent zombies from reaching the Big Brain.

In contrast, zombies have to find the Big Brain first as they do not know its location; reach the brain, break its protection and then eat it. Zombies have a fast respawn time (5 seconds) and are only proficient in short range attacks. Zombies do not have guns and they do not have any medium/long ranged attack available. Strategize with your teammate for an all-in attack or attack in groups to distract the guards.

The match lasts five minutes in which the two teams will face each other to win the game.

Blue Team's Objective Prevent the zombies from eating the Big Brain for the duration of the match. (5 min)
Red Team's Objective Eat the Big Brain before time runs out!

VIP (V.I.P. Escort)Badge Premium

Main Article: VIP
In this mode, there are two teams (Guards and Killers). A VIP will spawn on the guards' side (assigned randomly). The objective of this game for guards is to help the VIP reach the escape point if you are a guard. However, if you are a killer, your objective is to kill the VIP and prevent him from reaching the escape point. There is a time limit of 5 minutes which means that if the VIP did not die and did not reach the escape point within that time, killers win. As soon as the VIP dies or reaches the escape point, the game is automatically over. As a guard, you have the task to clear the way so that the VIP can safely reach the escape point. Make use of all your weapons such as grenades and flares and make sure to reload often. As a killer, you do not need to kill all the guards. Your task is to kill the VIP. Only kill guards if necessary. It is a good idea to hide around the escape point however it is also predictable. Be smart.

The match lasts five minutes in which the two teams will face each other to win the game.
Guards' Objective Help the VIP reach the escape point without the VIP dieing.
Killers' Objective Kill the VIP before it reaches the escape point.

SL (Slender)Badge Premium

Main Article: SL
In this mode, there are two teams (Humans and Faceless). Humans are only equipped with a torch. Their objective is to find at least 4 notes individually (one person of the team has to find 4/4 notes) to win the game. They also have to avoid getting killed by The Faceless Ones. Humans only have one life per game meaning that if you die, you can only spectate until the end of the round. If the Humans cannot collect 4/4 notes during the 5 minutes given, it is considered a Faceless win.

As a Human, it is important to coordinate your movements and strategize so that one player picks up all the notes. This will ensure a faster victory rather than individually trying to find 4 notes. Notice that 4 people in the Humans' team getting one note each will not let you win, however ONE person getting four notes will end the game. As a Faceless One, use your speed wisely. Make sure to position yourself properly in front of a Human to scream at him and also use your visual attack at the same time to maximize your damage.

The match lasts five minutes in which the two teams will face each other to win the game.
Human's Objective Collect individually or help someone collect 4/4 notes to win the game.
Faceless' Objective Kill all the Humans or prevent them from collecting 4/4 notes for 5 minutes to win the game.
